Our community

Our memorial parks are woven into the local neighbourhood. Many people walk through on their way to work, sit by the pond during lunch, or simply enjoy the open green space. We care for these gardens so they can be both, a place of remembrance and a peaceful part of everyday life.

Community engagement

We proudly host community events on significant days such as Mother's Day and All Souls Day, creating warm and comforting gatherings within our beautiful grounds for all who wish to attend.

But we don't want to stop there. We are genuinely excited about the opportunity to open our spaces further and would love to connect with community groups, organisations, and individuals within our local area to explore how we can work together. Whether it's a meaningful event, a commemorative gathering, or a community initiative, we warmly welcome the conversation.

Within Payneham Cemetery, we have the Argent Hall — a wonderful space that could be available for community use. We would love to hear from you about how this space could serve your group or organisation, and we are more than happy to discuss options in a way that works for everyone.

Our commitment to the environment

We care for these grounds with the long view in mind. Our staff are trained in horticulture and work with natural, ecological approaches — nurturing the pond, tending the landscape, and letting the gardens thrive quietly. We've moved to electric vehicles and equipment. We also utilise the South Australian method of grave sites reclamation so these green spaces can continue to grow and breathe for generations to come and serve the community that wished to utilise them.
